What is Re-marketing?

Re-marketing is a feature that lets you reach people who have previously visited your site, and show them relevant ads across the web or when they search on Google. For example when people leave your site without buying anything,  re-marketing helps you connect with these potential customers again. You are even able to create a messaged aimed at customers who have previously visited your site.

You are able to use re-marketing to match the right message to the right people at the right time. Here is a simply explanation on how re-marketing works, you add a piece of code (re-marketing tag) to all of the pages of your site. Then, when customers come to your site, they’ll be added to your re-marketing lists. You can later reach out to these potential buyers while they search on Google or browse other websites.

Here are some tips on what to use re-marketing for:

  • Re-marketing for the Display Network: Show ads to your site visitors while they browse the web.
  • Re-marketing lists for search ads: Show ads to your site visitors when they search for what they need on Google. Expand your reach with additional keywords, set bid adjustments for people who have visited your site, and tailor your ads to them.
  • Dynamic re-marketing (only for advertisers with a Google Merchant Center account): Show dynamically created ads to your site visitors, powered by your Google Merchant Center account. These ads are created based on the pages your customers visited or how they interacted with your site, and are shown to your site visitors while they view other sites on the web.
  • Re-marketing for mobile apps: Reach customers who have previously visited specific sections of your mobile app, and show ads to them when they use other apps.

Re-marketing with Google Analytic. Google Analytics can improve campaign performance by reaching viewers who have already been to your site.  Here is a short article with some more information on Google Analytics

Also here is an overview video on Google Analytics.

Some people have mixed opinions on re-marketing, i believe it is an efficient way for marketers to target their customers, by having an insight into the consumers interests is it much easier to target individual consumers on what they browse for. Is it a useful tool or just a method of stalking i want to hear your opinion.

Is Snapchat here to stay?

Snapchat has recently became very popular among the target market of 13 to 25 year olds, but what is it?

Snapchat is a photo messaging application (“app”). Using the application, users can take photos, record videos, add text and drawings, and send them to a controlled list of recipients,  with an estimated 400 million Snaps being sent every day.   Users can also set a time limit for how long recipients can view their Snaps ranging from 1 second to 10 seconds , after which they will be hidden from the recipient’s device and deleted from Snapchat’s servers. This provides a novelty with the app, the days of text messaging, whats app and Viber could well be over.

The best feature of Snapchat (other than the reduced possibility of photos appearing on Facebook) is the touchscreen drawing. With it, you can make masterpieces that last only 10 seconds or less. Here you have the chance to be as creative and free as you like.
